H. Confirmation in Blessed Trinity parish, Amsterdam

On monday after pentecost we celebrated the sacra­ment of confirmation in the Blessed Trinity parish of Am­ster­dam. Nine young people received this sacra­ment, all of them well prepared by the cate­chists of the Parish.

From afar

The confirmands in this English spea­king parish were from different background most of them with African or Asian backgrounds. For some of the candidates family had come all the way from India to attend the celebration. The candidates were all over fifteen years of age, I esteem, and took this step with faith and consciously. Fr. Peter Klos concelebrated in this Holy Mass.

Under the light of the Spirit

In the homily I spoke about the importance of not just follo­wing your first thougths and emotions, but to consi­der the options and the path to take under the light of the holy Spirit, so that you may be follo­wing the direction the Lords want you to take. The help of family and friends and their example is of the utmost importance.

Gathe­ring

After Holy Mass there was a nice reception with food and drinks to celebrate this event, the sacra­ment of Confirmation being administered to nine young parishioners.
